In the autumn of 2013 the exhibition ‘ Trialogo ’ of the Spanish painter Gonzalo Orquín residing in Rome showing photographs of same-sex couples kissing in churches mainly located in Rome, has been pulled after the diocese of Rome sent the gallery a notice threatening legal action and saying that “the church is against the exhibition”. Later on the pictures and paintings of the artist are vandalized by graffiti!
The photos were covered during the exhibition (left) and destroyed by graffitti (right). |
